From beginning to end nothing ever held you like Alfred Hitchcock's Rope"; "Screen play by Arthur Laurents"; "From the play by Patrick Hamilton"; loosely based on the Leopold/Loeb child murder trial; this movie had a gimmick in that the entire movie took place in what appears to be one extremely long "take"; to me, it just made it seem like watching a stage play, and took away what differentiates a movie from a stage play!) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), John Dall, Farley Granger, Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"), Constance Collier, Joan Chandler, (in her second movie role; one of only three movies she did in her entire career!)
