eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2w107 FOOTLIGHT PARADE pressbook 1933 massive & includes fold-out back cover with 24-sheets! Date Sold 12/14/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11 1/2" x 17 1/4" [29 x 44 cm]; 62 pages) (Learn More) Footlight Parade, the classic 1933 Lloyd Bacon New York City Broadway stage romantic musical ("Another of Warner Bros.' Glittering Parade of Musical Sensations!"; "Surpassing even '42nd Street' and 'Gold Diggers of 1933'"; "Can you even think of missing it?"; "250 of the world's most gorgeous girls and hundreds more of your screen favorites."; "Dance numbers by Busby Berkeley") starring James Cagney (billed on some items as "Jimmy Cagney"), Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler, Dick Powell, Frank McHugh, Ruth Donnelly, Guy Kibbee, Hugh Herbert, Nancy Lyons, Gordon Westcott, Claire Dodd, Donna Mae Roberts, Renee Whitney, and Bobbie La Salle. Note that this movie had some of the most risque advertising of any movie ever, with many images of girls wearing the skimpiest of costumes (and they were advertised as "one of the 300 reasons why you must see Footlight Parade")! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a really sensational pressbook that has a fold-out back cover that shows giant images of both 24-sheets and inside shows tons of incredible posters, standees, and special displays. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It was folded across the middle at one time (we don't want to re-fold it, because of how thick it is). It has creases, smudges, and scuffs on the fold-out back cover, with small tears and paper loss on the area between the fold-out and the regular page (see our image). There are some small stains scattered on the poster page on half of the other side of the fold-out, with a larger faint stain over the style F display. There are some creases and scuffs on the front cover. The other interior pages are generally in pretty nice condition, and unlike other examples of this pressbook I have seen, they are not very fragile at all, which is a big plus.
