April 2000 (released in the U.S. in 1954 as "April 1, 2000"), the 1952 Wolfgang Liebeneiner Austrian romantic comedy fantasy science fiction (sci-fi) thriller (about the world of the year 2000, where all countries are united by a "World Global Union", but Austria declares its independence, and the soldiers of the Global Union show up with death rays to stop the revolution, and the Austrian leaders show how, way back in 1943, Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin promised that Austria would forever promise Austria independence; the movie was a clever sci-fi satire on the delay taken by the United Nations in 1950 to give Austria the independence it had been promised back in 1943!) starring Hilde Krahl, Josef Meinrad, Waltraut Haas, Judith Holzmeister, and Elisabeth Stemberger
