Date Sold 8/29/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 18" x 24" [46 x 61 cm]) (Learn More) Godzilla (Gojira) is a monster (or kaiju) that first appeared in the 1954 film Godzilla. It became a worldwide pop culture icon, appearing in various media, including over 30 films produced by Toho, multiple Hollywood films and numerous video games, novels, comic books and television shows. Godzilla was originally conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons, but as the film series expanded, some stories took on less serious (and often silly) themes, portraying Godzilla as an antihero, or even a defender of humanity (who still steps on a lot of buildings). Godzilla has faced off against many monster opponents, including: King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Mothra and Gigan. Artist: Tom Whalen Important Added Info: Note that portions of this poster are printed on a foil material and is very difficult to accurately photograph, but is quite striking when viewed in person! Condition: very good. The poster has a few light creases and tiny scuffs in the foil material, but they are not very noticeable or distracting when the poster is displayed and otherwise it is in pretty nice condition!
