eMoviePoster.comCool Item Of the Week: Queen High pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 07/15/2013 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from Queen High, the 1930 Fred C. Newmeyer romantic sex gambling comedy musical ("The Ace of Comedies"; "New York paid $5.50 to see this stage hit!"; about two partners in a garter business who want to split up, and they make the VERY unusual bet where they gamble at a single hand of poker, and the winner gets to run the business for a year, and the loser has to act as his personal manservant; separately, one of their sons falls for the very pretty and very young Ginger Rogers!) starring Stanley Smith, Ginger Rogers (in only her sixth role, and her second starring role in a feature!), Charles Ruggles, and Frank Morgan. Here is an image of the front cover and back poster page: Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 20,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!). And remember to check out our previous Cool Items of the Week in our Cool Item of the Week archive (which is now fully searchable!).
