ROSCOE TURNER
Roscoe Turner was an actor and a racing aviator from the 1910s to the 1930s. He was a pilot during World War I (WWI) and a post-war record-breaking aviator who was a three-time winner of the Thompson Trophy air race. He was widely recognized by his flamboyant style and his pet Gilmore the Lion. Turner was an honorary official with the Indianapolis 500 car race for many years, and some of his movies include: Flight at Midnight, Air Hawks, and Hell's Angels. He passed away in 1970 at the age of 74.
