Ernie Kovacs was an actor, comedian, and TV performer from the 1950s to the 1960s. Some of his movies include: Bell, Book, and Candle, North to Alaska, Our Man in Havana, Strangers When We Meet, and It Happened to Jane. He was the star of TV's groundbreaking "The Ernie Kovacs Show". He passed away in 1962 at the age of 42 in a car accident. After his death, he owed the IRS hundreds of thousands of dollars (he didn't believe in taxes, and simply refused to pay!), and his wife, Edie Adams, insisted on paying it off, working in TV commercials (she was the spokesperson for Muriel Cigars for 19 years!).
