JOHN LITHGOW
John Lithgow graduated Magna Cum Laude in history and literature from Harvard College, but he wanted to be an actor, and he had a successful career on Broadway in the 1970s, winning two Tony Awards. He had some very minor film and TV roles in the 1970s, but his big break came playing the transsexual football player Roberta in The World According To Garp (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film) in 1982. Lithgow is well-remembered for his role as the wacky alien in human form in TV's "3rd Rock from the Sun". Some of his other movies include: Raising Cain, Cliffhanger, Terms Of Endearment (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and Shrek. As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 75.
