JEAN MARAIS

Jean Marais was a leading French actor from the 1920s to the 1990s. He made several movies with director Jean Cocteau, and he is certainly best remembered for his starring role as the Beast in "La Belle et la Bete" (Beauty and the Beast). Some of his other movies include: Orphee, Le Notti Bianche ("White Nights"), and Drole de Drame ou L'etrange Aventure du Docteur Molyneux ("Bizarre, Bizarre"). He passed away in 1998 at the age of 84.
