TOM KENNEDY (actor)
Tom Kennedy was an actor from the 1910s to the 1960s. Tom was a former amateur boxing champion, who turned to acting in the middle 1910s, primarily playing large oafish characters. He was NOT the older brother of comic actor Edgar Kennedy, as is often mistakenly noted, and we are guilty of having passed on that falsehood innocently! He often acted with Edgar (which is likely why they were mistakenly identified as brothers), and he appeared in a series of 11 Columbia two-reel comedies alongside Monty Collins in the middle 1930s, and he had a major role in the "Torchy Blaine" detective movies. He stayed active in movies all the way until he passed away in 1965 at the age of 80.
