ROY ROGERS
Roy Rogers (born Leonard Slye, often referred to as the "King of the Cowboys") is considered one of the all-time top singing cowboy western actors (he started in movies in the 1930s and worked in film until the 1950s, often with The Sons of the Pioneers, and comedy sidekicks including Gabby Hayes and Andy Devine; in 1951, he transitioned to television and had a very successful TV show for six seasons) and was nearly always accompanied by his equally famous horse, Trigger. He had many female co-stars until he starred with Dale Evans, and they married, and remained married for over 50 years! He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86.
