CURTIS MAYFIELD
Curtis Mayfield was a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer from the 1950s to the 1990s. As one of the most influential musicians behind soul, he first achieved success with the group The Impressions during the Civil Rights movement in the late 1950s and 1960s, and was dubbed the "Gentle Genius". He later worked as a solo artist, and some of his works include: People Get Ready, Freddie's Dead, and the soundtrack album for the blaxploitation film Super Fly. He passed away in 1999 at the age of 57
