DEREK JARMAN
Derek Jarman was an English film director, stage designer, author and gay rights activist from the 1970s to the 1990s. Jarman was outspoken about homosexuality, his public fight for gay rights, and his personal struggle with AIDS. Some of his movies include: The Tempest, New Queer Cinema, and Caravaggio. He passed away in 1994 due to AIDS-related illness at the age of 52.
