EDWARD VIII

Edward VIII was an English royal from the 1910s to the 1970s. He was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Empire, and Emperor of India for only one year, in 1936, when he abdicated to marry the "commoner" socialite Wallis Simpson. Edward then became a prince once more, staying married to Simpson until he passed away in 1972 at the age of 77.
