EDDIE JACKSON
Eddie Jackson was a black African American vaudeville performer, actor, and musican from the 1920s to the 1970s. He performed with comedian Jimmy Durante for years! In the early 1920s, Durante formed a trio with Eddie Jackson and another black African American performer, Lou Clayton, which was certainly unusual for that time! The trio, known as "Three Sawdust Bums", became a major success, including in vaudeville and on Broadway. The trio broke up in 1931, but Jackson remained Durante's sidekick throughout his career! Jackson passed away in 1980 at the age of 84.
