GUSTAV DIESSL

Gustav Diessl was an Austrian actor from the 1920s to the 1940s. He was born in 1899 and served in World War I and was a prisoner of war for a year. After the war, he became interested in plays and wanted to be a stage designer, but ended up an actor. He made some movies with G.W. Pabst and other leading directors. After his starring role in The White Hell of Pitz Palu, he became internationally famous, but he only made a single Hollywood movie, and otherwise remained in Germany. He contained acting during World War II in Germany. He passed away in 1948 at the age of 48 following two strokes.
