DAVE BRUBECK
David Warren Brubeck was a legendary jazz pianist and composer from the 1940s to the 2010s. Often regarded as a foremost exponent of cool jazz, Brubeck's work is characterized by unusual time signatures and superimposing contrasting rhythms, meters, and tonalities. Brubeck was the recipient of several music awards and honors throughout his lifetime. In 1996, Brubeck received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2008, Brubeck was inducted into the California Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2012 at the age of 91.
