VIRGINIA CHERRILL
Virginia Cherrill was an actress from the 1930s. She is best remembered for her starring role in 1931 as the blind girl in City Lights (Charlie Chaplin discovered her after an uncredited role in The Air Circus). Some of her other movies include: Girls Demand Excitement, He Couldn't Take It, and White Heat. In 1933, she married Cary Grant and largely retired. They divorced in 1935, and he gave her half of his wealth at the time, which amounted to $50,000. Two years later, she married the Earl of Jersey, and was married to him for 9 years, and later married for a third time. Cherrill passed away in 1996 at the age of 88.
