RALPH BAKSHI
Ralph Bakshi is a Palestinian-born (in what is now Israel) animator and director from the 1960s to the present. His family moved to Brooklyn, New York, when he was a small child during World War II. He worked for several famous animation studios. In 1972, he had this big break when he made "Fritz the Cat", a feature animation movie based on Robert Crumb's underground comic character, and he followed with Heavy Traffic, The Lord of the Rings, Wizards, and Cool World. He also did "Fire and Ice" with legendary illustrator Frank Frazetta! As of 2021, Bakshi is still alive at the age of 82!
