ANITA BRYANT

Anita Bryant is a a singer and activist from the 1950s to the 1970s. She was notorious for her involvement in the "Save Our Children" political coalition, that tried to overturn an ordinance that banned discrimination based on sexual orientation. She had several songs on the U.S. Hot 100 in the 1950s and 1960s, but her activism overshadowed her entertainment career. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 80!
