HEINER MULLER
Heiner Muller was an East German dramatist, poet, writer, essayist and theatre director from the 1950s to the 1990s. Described as "the theatre's greatest living poet" since Samuel Beckett, Muller is arguably the most important German dramatist of the 20th century after Bertolt Brecht. His "enigmatic, fragmentary pieces" are a significant contribution to postmodern drama and post-dramatic theatre. Some of his works include: Germania Tod in Berlin, Der Auftrag and Die Hamletmaschine. Muller passed away in 1995 at the age of 66.
