Polidor (born Ferdinand Guillaume) was a French-born Italian actor and director from the 1910s to the 1960s. He was very popular until the advent of sound (starring in over 300 silent movies, often mocking the bourgeoise and class distinction!), when he was relegated to non-starring roles. Famed Italian director Federico Fellini was a great fan of Polidor's early work and cast him in Le notti di Cabiria, La Dolce Vita, and 8 1/2, and Pier Paolo Pasolini cast him in Accattone. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 90.
