NANCY EVANS
Nancy Evans was an English concert and opera singer from the 1930s to the 1960s. She started in opera in 1938, and during World War II, she entertained the troops, singing opera for servicemen! In 1946, she joined the recently created by Benjamin Britten English Opera Group, and Britten wrote some operas specifically for her to star in! She continued performing through the late 1960s, and then turned to training young singers. She passed away in 2000, at the age of 85.
