DICK HUEMER
Dick Huemer was a pioneer animator, writer, and director from the 1910s to the 1930s. He started making cartoons at the Raoul Barre cartoon studio in 1916. He joined the Fleischer studio in 1923, where he developed the Koko the Clown character. He moved to Hollywood and worked for Charles Mintz studio. He then went to work for Walt Disney, where he remained for most of the rest of his career, except for in 1948 to 1951, when he made animated TV commercials. Otherwise, he was at Disney from April 1933 to February 1973, and he was co-creator of Dumbo, and some of the many other cartoons he worked on include: Lullabyland, The Wise Little Hen, The Tortoise and the Hare, and Mickey's Elephant. He passed away in 1979 at the age of 81.
