ROBERT FRANK

Robert Frank was a Swiss-American photographer and documentary filmmaker from the 1940s to the 2010s. His most notable work, the 1958 book titled The Americans, earned Frank comparisons to a modern-day de Tocqueville for his fresh and nuanced outsider's view of American society. He later expanded into film and video and experimented with manipulating photographs and photomontage. Some of his works include: Life Dances On, Paper Route, and Candy Mountain. He passed away in 2019 at the age of 94.
