PATRICIA CARON
Patricia Caron was an actress from the 1920s to the 1930s. Some of her movies include: The Fourflusher, Ain't It the Truth, Tripping Through the Tropics, and I've Been Around. Note that Miss Caron is a fascinating actress, and it is not so much for her on screen career as for the mystery about her off screen life! We have auctioned a still that has part of a newspaper article on the back from March 5, 1940, which tells how federal narcotics agents had asked Miss Caron to have "a little chat" about her involvement with drugs! I then searched the Internet, and found information that Miss Caron and Thomas (Scarface) Evans were arrested, and there was a caption that read: "Indicted with several others on narcotic charges, Actress Patricia Caron, top picture, has gone into a Los Angeles court with Thomas (Scarface) Evans, and ex-gambling boat bouncer, who surrendered when charged with being a principal in an alleged widespread Hollywood opium ring." The newspaper article used a picture of her from one of her movies from the 1920s, and stated that she was "24 years old", when actually she was 34 (and no doubt looked different!). So does anyone know the rest of the story on how Patricia Caron went from being a Hollywood actress who retired in 1936 to a woman arrested on narcotics charges with a notorious gangster? If anyone knows more about this person, please
e-mail us and we will post it here.
