FANNIE HURST
Fannie Hurst was a playwright and author from the 1910s to the 1960s. She wrote many of the most famous and best-selling "tearjerker" melodrama novels, and many were made into movies (and some were remade by Ross Hunter decades later). Some of her works include: Imitation of Life, Back Street, The Vertical City, and Every Soul Hath Its Song. She passed away in 1968 at the age of 78.
