LARRY SEMON
Larry Semon was a silent comic actor from the 1910s to the 1920s. Some of his movies include: Underworld, Happy Time and Jolly Moments, and Kid Speed. He passed away in 1928 at the age of 39 from tuberculosis after a nervous breakdown. He had already lost his fortune because of a lavish lifestyle. Interestingly, he was very popular in Italy (where he was known as Ridolini), perhaps because unlike Chaplin and Keaton, Semon's character always had a smile on his face. This popularity continued into the 1960s because his works were Italian dubbed and music was added, helping him to connect to younger audiences which might overlook silent films.
