GERDA MAURUS

Gerda Maurus was an Austrian actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She had starring roles in two of Fritz Lang's very best movies, "Spies" and "Woman in the Moon". She was in some important movies of the 1930s, but did not have the same success as in those first two movies. She stayed in Germany during World War II and was associated with Joseph Goebbels. She eventually made a few more movies, but her career was tainted by her Nazi connections. Maurus passed away in 1968 at the age of 64.
