Hugh Marlowe (born Hugh Herbert Hipple) was an actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. Before becoming a movie actor, he first appeared in 125 "little theater" plays in Chicago, and later was a radio announcer in Indiana. He made his first movie in 1936 and had very limited success, and moved to New York, where he appeared on the Broadway stage. He likely had military service in World War II (but we could not find out what), and he had greater success when he resumed making movies in the late 1940s, and had much greater success in the 1950s. Some of his movies include: Seven Day in May, Birdman of Alcatraz, Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers, and All About Eve. He passed away in 1982 at the age of 71.
