SOUPY SALES

Soupy Sales (born Milton Supman!) was an actor from the 1940s to the 2000s. He is best remembered for his daytime "kids" show, originally called "12 O'Clock Comics", which quickly became "Lunch with Soupy Sales", and later known as "The Soupy Sales Show". It was always controversial because he mixed in slapstick (with wacky puppets) with risque humor aimed at adults, and his shows were frequently canceled by one station and then he would get rehired by another, over a 14 year period. During this time, he released two novelty records, which only happened because Frank Sinatra was a big fan and signed Sales to a recording contract! He was a frequent "panelist" on many game shows, mostly Goodson-Toddman productions like "To Tell the Truth". He passed away in 2009 at the age of 83.
