HENRI MATISSE

Henri Matisse was a French artist from the 1880s to the 1950s. He was known for his use of color and his original draughtsmanship. His mastery of the expressive language of color and drawing, displayed in a body of work spanning over a half-century, won him recognition as a leading figure in modern art. He passed away in 1954 at the age of 84.
