GERALDINE FERRARO
Geraldine Ferraro was a lawyer and politician from the 1960s to the 2000s. She served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1979 to 1985 and was an Ambassador to the U.N., however, perhaps she is best remembered as being the first female vice presidential candidate for a major political party when she ran for the office alongside Walter Mondale in 1984. Ferraro passed away in 2011 at the age of 75.
