RONDO HATTON
Rondo Hatton was an actor from the 1930s to the 1940s. He was afflicted with acromegaly which is "a chronic disease of adults marked by enlargement of the bones of the extremities, face, and jaw that is caused by overactivity of the pituitary gland". Hollywood saw in Hatton the chance to make money by exploiting the way the disease had distorted his features, and for several years prior to his death, he was a villain in low-budget horror movies. Some of his movies include: The Brute Man, The Pearl of Death, and The Jungle Captive. Hatton passed away in 1946 at the age of 51.
