GEORGE MCGOVERN

George McGovern was a liberal politician in South Dakota from 1957 to 1977. He was a U.S. Representative, U.S. Senator, and the Democratic Party presidential nominee in the 1972 presidential election. Note that McGovern was beaten by Richard Nixon in a landslide victory, partially because Nixon had McGovern's campaign headquarters bugged, which led to the entire Watergate scandal, and caused Nixon to resign as President. McCovern passed away in 2012 at the age of 90.
