JAMES ELLISON
James Ellison was an actor from the 1930s to the 1960s. He had a major role as Buffalo Bill Cody in Cecil B. DeMille's The Plainsman, but afterwards, he mostly appeared in B-westerns. Interestingly, no doubt because he had such a promising start, he was equally billed with William Boyd in the first six Hopalong Cassidy movies! He was replaced in the series by Russell Hayden in the Hopalong Cassidy series, and then, in an unusual twist, Ellison and Hayden co-starred together in a series of 6 B-westerns, where Ellison was billed as Jimmy 'Shamrock' Ellison (after his character). After he retired from movies, he had a successful career as a real estate agent. He passed away in 1993 at the age of 83.
