RAFER JOHNSON
Rafer Johnson was a black African American professional athlete and actor from the 1950s to the 1990s. He is best known for being Olympic decathlon champion at the 1960 Rome Olympics. In 1968, Johnson, along with football player Rosey Grier, and journalist George Plimpton, tackled Sirhan Sirhan moments after he fatally shot Robert F. Kennedy. After his athletic career, Johnson appeared in a handful of movies, including: None but the Brave, Licence to Kill, and The Sins of Rachel Cade. Johnson passed away in 2020 at the age of 86.
