SONNY CHIBA

Sonny Chiba is a Japanese actor from the 1960s to the present. He is known primarily in the U.S. as a Bruce Lee-like kung fu action hero, but he actually started in movies in 1960 when he was known as "Shinichi Chiba", and he spent the next ten years appearing as gangsters in crime movies, but when Bruce Lee started the great popularity of kung fu movies, Chiba, who was in his thirties, but in wonderful physical condition and an expert in martial arts, began making similar movies, with his breakout hit being "The Streetfighter" in 1974; to date, he has appeared in well over 150 movies! As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 82!
