RUBY DANDRIDGE
Ruby Dandridge was a black African American actress from the 1930s to the 1950s. She was unfortunately mostly relegated to stereotyped roles like maids. Some of her movies include: Cabin in the Sky, Dead Reckoning, and Tap Roots. She was also much on radio, including on The Amos 'n' Andy Show, where both her daughters had parts as well (of course, one of those daughters was future female star Dorothy Dandridge!). Ruby passed away in 1987 at the age of 87.
