PAUL HORBIGER

Paul Horbiger was was a major Austrian star from the 1930s and 1940s. He joined the Austrian resistance against Nazi occupation after they annexed Austria; he continued making movies while in the resistance; he was exposed and sentenced to death in 1945, but was freed by the Russians before he could be executed! He resumed his acting career until the 1970s, and passed away in 1981 at the age of 86.
