HELEN MORGAN

Helen Morgan ia the famed real life torch singer who became a major star at the height of the Roaring Twenties, but who became an alcoholic and had a sensational crash landing to her career in the early 1930s; she had one final triumph in the re-make of "Show Boat" in 1936, but died of cirrhosis of the liver in 1941 when she was only 41 years old.
