PAUL LYNDE

Paul Lynde was an actor and TV personality from the 1950s to the 1970s. He is best known from TV's "Hollywood Squares". He had a very memorable role as the typical American father in Bye Bye Birdie (singing "Kids"). It was an "open secret" that he was gay (it was never referred to, but most people clearly knew it, although he never "came out of the closet" during his lifetime). Some of his other movies include: Beach Blanket Bingo, and Charlotte's Web (as the voice of Templeton). He passed away in 1982 at the age of 55.
