Jim Morrison was a singer, song-writer, and poet from the 1960s to the 1970s. He is best remembered as the lead singer of the rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music group the Doors, whose band members also included Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, and Robby Krieger. They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. The Doors were the first American band to accumulate eight consecutive gold LPs and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. Tragically, Jim Morrison passed away in 1971 at the age of 27 in Paris, part of the infamous "27 Club". To this day, controversy and conspiracies surround his death.
