GILA GOLAN
Gila Golan is a Polish actress and model from the 1960s to the 1980s. She had a very unusual background! She was found as an infant in a Polish train station in 1940, and was adopted by a Polish Catholic family. After the war, Golan's adoptive mother gave her up as an abandoned foundling, and she lived in a refugee center (first in Czechoslovakia, then France). She was later sent to Israel in the 1950s, where she was known as Miriam Goldberg by a second adoptive family. She won the Israel's Maiden of Beauty title in 1961 (changing her name to a more Israeli sounding one), and she went on to make a few movies including: Our Man Flint, Ship of Fools, and The Valley of Gwangi. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 81!
