CLAIRE ADAMS
Claire Adams was a Canadian actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. She was born in Canada, but went to school in England and became a nurse after World War I. After briefly returning to Canada, she went to Hollywood and made a lot of non-talking movies, marrying her producer, Benjamin Hampton. When he died in 1932, she was left a fortune, and she soon remarried a wealthy Scotsman, Scobie Mackinnon. They moved to Australia and neither marriage produced any children, and they lived a life of leisure until he passed away in 1974, which left her even richer, and she passed away in 1978 at the age of 82, creating a wildlife sanctuary in Australia and benefiting numerous charities.
