ARTHUR GODFREY

Arthur Godfrey was a television host from the early 1950s to the 1970s. He also appeared in several movies such as The Great Bank Hoax, and 4 for Texas, however, he is best remembered as the host of the television (TV) variety series "The Arthur Godfrey Show". He was one of the most powerful men in TV in the 1950s, and he did not like others sharing in his success, and he is legendary for firing singer Julius LaRosa ON AIR, telling him that he needed to get some humility! He passed away in 1983 at the age of 79.
