EUBIE BLAKE
Eubie Blake was a legendary black African American composer, songwriter, and pianist from the 1910s to the 1980s. He was one of the greatest songwriters of the 1920s, writing songs including: Charleston Rag, Love Will Find a Way, and I'm Just Wild About Harry. There was a revival of his type of music in the 1950s, which brought him back into public view, and in the 1960s and 1970s, he was a frequent guest on The Tonight Show and The Merv Griffin Show, and he even appeared on Saturday Night Live. Eubie passed away in 1983 at the age of 96.
