ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer from the 1880s to 1930. He is known throughout the world as the author of the Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories (he wrote over fifty!). He was a great believer in spiritualism, and he and legendary magician Harry Houdini often clashed on this subject. Doyle passed away in 1930 at the age of 71.
