Yasujiro Ozu was a legendary Japanese writer and director from 1920s to the 1960s. He is likely the second best regarded Japanese director after Akira Kurosawa, but his movies are as different from Kurosawa's as is possible! Most of them deal with family relationships, and his movies were well known for the use of a "static" camera that was positioned a few feet from the floor (no doubt because Japanese people kneeled or sat a great deal of the time, so that was the level of view they had). Many of his films are considered classics, and his masterpiece is "Tokyo Story" from 1953, although he made movies from 1927 to 1962. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 60. First release Japanese posters of any kind from any of his movies are beyond rare!
