SID GRAUMAN
Sid Grauman was a legendary theater owner from the 1920s to the 1950s. He owned the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, and came up with the wonderful gimmick of having stars put their hand prints and signatures in cement, which he displayed in front of his theater (and over the years, many stars have been added and removed, as tastes have changed). Sid passed away in 1950 at the age of 70.
